As things currently stand, our guys in the field using the ProContractor mobile app can enter time for employees via Daily Field Reports and leave the employee name and cost code empty (i.e., all they record is hours, which as you can imagine creates a headache for accounting). This is obviously not a valid entry, but since data validation doesn't occur until the import stage, it isn't caught until later. It would be great if we had the ability to make some fields required in the Mobile app or to have some level of validation occur at the stage when guys in the field are saving their entry.
7/14/2017 - We recently made the cost code field required in PC Mobile. This requirement is for both Time Card entry and the Daily Field Report. We cannot make the employee required at this point, because some companies may need entry of just the usage of a piece of equipment. We will consider other ways to help drive this information moving forward.

I understand the request, but allow me to explain why it doesn't happen now and may not for a while, so that you can try and take other measures.
The inputs here are intended to be flexible and not validated, as the entire DFR is a non-validated process. This allows flexibility for users to use it as they intend to without being burdened by so many rules and restrictions. That is by design and will remain for the foreseeable future.
The ability to allow users to select some validated fields in the app is a possible solution, and would address this, but I must share that this is a substantial project and is not something that is on our immediate roadmap. In the meantime, I would suggest that this is a training issue and that our users enforce with the field that they enter all of the valid information that is needed.
