Collaborate with Viewpoint and your peers by providing us with your input
In the ProContractor application on the desktop, it would be nice to have a control panel that shows the status of the Publisher.
1. Is the Publisher service running, yes or no
2. Start and Stop buttons for the Publisher service
3. The local time that the publisher last published, and the next scheduled time
4. Publisher metrics: how much data (in KB) did the publisher push to cloud on last cycle? how much data did publisher download from cloud on last cycle? How many users/projects were updated? What the total running execution time of the publisher on the last cycle?
5. Error Message Review: If the Publisher encountered any error in the last cycle, (displayed in the Event Viewer), user can click a button to open a notepad window that shows complete text of all error messages. From there, the can highlight and copy the text.
6. Error Message Alert: user enters a valid email address or text message SMS number. If the Publisher encountered any error in the last cycle, an email alert or text message will be sent to the contact to alert them that a failure occurred.

Viewpoint reviews Suggestion Box regularly for all of our products and updates statuses, adds comments, and performs various house-keeping (including deleting) as needed to ensure that Suggestion Box is maintained as a productive environment for product enhancements requests.

These are all good suggestions, and as we expand the use and control of PC Mobile we will consider options as to how we can make it all a little more transparent and user friendly. We have been wanting to add a publisher restart button in ProContractor for some time, but it's a fairly complicated process to kick off from ProContractor, and there are concerns to resolve. Once we figure out the best delivery method, additional functionality would then have a spot to land in the future.
