I would like to see a user defined title option for general equipment description. Ex. below:
If I insert a 225A panel, I would like a prompt to come up to give a name to my 225A panel (Panel AE-1)
If I insert a 2x4 lay in fixture, I would like a prompt to come up to give a name to the fixture (Fixture type XY-2)
Currently this is possible only by using user defined specials.
This way I can insert all of my panels & fixtures with their own identification without building specials. The panel and fixture names will change with every job. This is why I cannot create a new database with them in it.
For a typical school, I can have up to 100+ specials just to identify my fixtures and panels. This creates problems finding other specials through the job in the specials selection list.
I am sure there is a way that the program has a hidden group of empty blocks per job that can be taken up with these user defined descriptions. Once you type in a description, it would automatically fill in one of these hidden empty blocks with the name. This way if it used again in the same project, it has it stored.

All MEP Equipment, Drains, Cleanouts, Fixture, Dbl. Check Valves and PRV valves and any other estimate considered specialties item that has the potential to always be quoted should come up with the prompt to be tagged weather it's using the description from the special list or a totally new tagging method.
It would also be beneficial if the user was prompted to add the special to his permit data special file for future estimates.
When storing it for future estimates, ask the user if he would like to retain the cost if one was given or set it to Quote. Since most items are quoted at summary the ability to send and retain for future estimates should be addressed here. This option is an absolute necessity in the world of estimating. exceptional with allowing multiple estimator to all use the same cost or allowance that was set for the item.
I know with the exceptional programmers you have on your staff that this will soon come to reality.
