The ability to import data from Excel for any data screen in PCMX would be a great benefit. Forcing users into manual data entry when the data already exists in an importable form is archaic. If data can be entered by keystroke, then it should be able to be entered by import too.

I have been successful in copy/pasting data from excel files directly into PC which saves a tremendous amount of time. We do this with Cost Codes, Budgets, Schedule of Values & Vendor/Subcontractor Invoices, equipment depreciation, and a number of other tasks. You just have to move your headers to the same exact position in both PC and on your spreadsheet. Also, you have to make sure all dollar values are listed as "general" and not currency on your spreadsheet. I have created templates for all of these scenarios.
In this day and age, even importing is archaic, when you might be able to avoid all manual effort with a programmable API to automate entire workflows. But an import feature would be a great start. For a modern system this is major feature oversight. We currently get around this deficiency somewhat with Excel macros (requisitions, expense reports, Telco invoices, etc) that interrogate the users grid settings so we can copy/paste invoice and PO lines with confidence that the mapping is correct regardless of the user's grid configuration.
If there were greater import abilities we would all have huge time savings. This is also applicable for Vendor Invoices. Not being able to import some of the highly data intense items is a major drawback to ProContractor.
I agree and support this request. We need an integration pathway to our Corporate purchasing card provider to be able to import several hundred transactions a month into ProContractor as a line-by-line Journal Entry for posting. The provider is able to structure and format this data any way we need it ... ProContractor needs a pathway to import it.
