Must be able to run payroll by state for a specific time period

This would be useful in many ways, but importantly, for New York state workers compensation insurance, payroll must be reported for each individual subject to a weekly limit.  If weekly payroll in New York cannot be substantiated, the weekly limit will not be allowed and all payroll will be considered subject when worked in New York.

This problem was easily handled by a state wage report for a specified date range sorted by employee showing weekly gross pay in Management Suite.  Now another year has come and gone, and another workers comp audit involving New York has been completed.  It was very difficult and time consuming to obtain and organize the information needed.  Another major disappointment and step backward from Management Suite.

I don’t think either of these suggestions will work for us.

We do not have separate workers comp policies for working in different states. Our only policy applies across the board.

And of course we realize that we can run the report by project, but that requires us to know all of the projects in New York that we worked on during a particular policy year – not the answer we were looking for.

The solution would be the ability to run the report for a specified date range for a particular Work Location, as set up in Project>Additional>Payroll>Work Location. And we would then require weekly detail, because New York workers comp is calculated weekly, up to a specified weekly limit.

    Please advise, and thanks,

You mentioned NY Workers Compensation.  There are 2 Payroll Insurance reports that can provide employee level detail.  The Payroll Insurance Report can be printed by State and or Insurance Policy and detail printed by employee or pay check.  The Payroll Insurance Report by Project prints similar details, but the selection would be for those projects within the state of NY.  Would either of these provide you with the information you need?
