Currently the software does not have the ability to create a requisition to purchase when the need arises. To have a proper accounts payable process established you need to have this functionality within the system. This is an additional control with AP that will help my company track, prioritize, and appropriately approve/reject warranted and unwarranted purchasing requests. Adding a requisition section enables my company to better manage our cash flow, budgets, and projects. It is a vital part of any AP department and needs to be added ASAP. Thank you.

This is a great idea and I've voted for it, but it's never likely to happen, especially given that Viewpoint cannot even see a need for this module in its flagship Vista product. Also, it would triple our licensing costs to deploy this solution to our field operations who do not have access to ProContractor. So we've developed a low tech, no cost, but very effective Excel macro (form) that supports the various workflow stages (picking, pricing, PO, etc) and finally allows a copy/paste of req lines to the PO, even allowing for the fact that different purchasers have different PO grid configurations. At month-end we can copy/paste a G/L warehouse issues voucher. This saves us hours of PO/G/L data entry.
If you want something really sophisticated, but really cheap, Google ReqLogic 360. It covers pretty much every requisition scenario you can possibly imagine, it's super customizable with advanced features such as online quotes and punchout. The only real trick would be creating the PO in ProContractor, but there are consultants out there that can can do that too, and it would still be a fraction of the cost of deploying a ProContractor solution.
This would make our lives a lot easier. Currently we have to give folks access to create a purchase order because there's not other way. This leaves a lot of room for error and it's not as controlled in my opinion. A requisition section that can turned into a PO by purchasing would be the best route in terms of ease of use and control.
