Because suppliers often will price an item like gun nails using a different quantity of boxes because the nail count per box has been changed from what I specified. When there are varying quantities in multiple assemblies tracking them all down is time consuming. Adding an estimating preference that allowed editing the assembly member quantity that is currently grayed out while in the "show all" view would be very helpful--saving time and reducing chance of introducing an error.
