We outsource HR/payroll and only use the Payroll function to capture labur hours/costs using standard Pay Code rates. The payroll procedures are agonizingly slow from the import of timecards to the posting of payroll, so we are looking at ways to optimize the process. The greatest time saving we've proven is to use a single dummy employee instead of having to maintain almost a 1,000 real-employees as we don't care about employee detail either. This reduces the run time of the Calculate Taxes & Deduction alone from 15 minutes to less than a minute and the number of pages in subsequent reports from around 400 to 10. However, this dummy employee cannot currently have more than 999 hours, so we'd like that constraint increased to 99,999 or higher. We don't expect this to earn any votes as this is a very unusual request, but we hope this is a very simple change ....and 99,999 is just as arbitrary and unreal as 999.
