Pay Classes allow you to set a default Cost Type, GL Cost Account, and Insurance Class. When you use the pay class in a Timecard, it should actually use those fields from the pay class.
Discovered that this is not working and was told by support that you have to manually change the Cost Type & GL Account. Sent back a 2nd time and told again that you have to manually change. This is especially tedios since you have to clear both the Cost Type & Cost Account fields before you can pick the correct Cost Type.
User has seperate Pay Classes set up for different Expense Reimbursements with the info pre-populated so that the person keying timecard should not have to. Why put the fields on the pay class if they won't be used in the timecard?

Agreed. This is a high case driver. I have created a knowledge-based article named "Timecard not using "Cost Type" setup on Pay Class and defaulting to Labor" that has an alternative work flow to setup a project cost code. Please review the article for more details. I have linked this Suggestion box idea there
