Let's say an estimator creates a new cost item in the catalog, unaware that the same cost item already exists in another location in the catalog. If the costs for the original item are updated, the list assemblies created with the duplicate item will not be updated. We need to be able search all list assemblies for a particular item in order to delete the duplicates and replace them with the correct cost items. As it is, it is a nightmare searching through list assemblies one by one. Eventually the catalog becomes corrupted with duplicate cost items. The estimator loses confidence that updating an item in the catalog will actually update the list assemblies in his/her estimate.

Suggestion: Use the "Find" button on the lower catalog screen.
Use the cost items "reference" number in the search.
you can then edit whatever you have to.
Maybe it could just be the reference number that needs changing?!
Then use explorer and update Catalog>Estimate.
Might practice on a test estimate first before moving onto production products.
