The common business case for use of a monthly pay cycle is to pay salaried employees. Time is typically entered as a single distribution line for total hours worked or could be broken down for project/cost code distributions should the salaried individual need time costed to projects. Multiple lines can be entered to the same date worked in order to account for total hours worked in paying employees.
Time that needs to be entered, where the date worked information is impactful, for example with certified payroll reporting, should be done as a weekly pay cycle. In the case of certified payroll reporting, this is identified in the Davis-Bacon Prevailing Wage guidelines.
