Presently, the Historical Earnings Statement sorts by check/advice number, then posting date, and check date. However, especially for those clients doing direct deposit, the advice number is a left-justified field and it does not sort in the order in which the check was issued. It sorts 10, 14, 6, 8, 9, etc. It would be beneficial to allow the user the choice of sorting by check date so that a listing could be obtain in the order that the employee actually received them.
This suggestion came from Jolene Arthur at DT Electric who was trying to verify the wages showing on the ROE using the Historical Earnings Statement but had difficulty. We were able to modify the Historical Earnings Statement to sort by check date only. But this would be a good general enhancement.

I had a 6 page report for an employee that the check dates were all over the board. Nothing in any type of order. I was embarrassed to send it to the person who requested it. When I talked to a support specialist she said that the report was sorted by some format that I have never heard of instead of number order. ie: 1021 came before 118 It didn't look at the digits as numbers. This is ridiculous!!! Why should that even be an option in the Employees module? This needs changed ASAP. I can't keep sending reports to Excel to do what ProC should be doing already!
This is a pet peeve of mine. All users should be able to bring up a report that is chronological in nature!
