When doing a month end bank reconciliation, even though the bank statement shows one total for a week's payroll, each individual payroll advice must be cleared. Although easy enough to assume that all the Payroll Advices have cleared, it makes for a very lengthy window to scroll down in the bank rec. For those companies that have a single entry on their bank statement for direct deposit payroll, create a parameter in PR or Bank Setup to lump the Posting Group's DD items together.

I agree that having a lump sum for direct deposit transactions would make bank reconciliation easier!

Ione is correct, however, you need to also allow for the fact that there are times when you will issued multiple manual checks, such as bonuses. It would be nice to have a check box for normal weekly, semi-weekly, semi-monthly or monthly checks and have all other types allow you to indicate if you want detail or summary.
