Collaborate with Viewpoint and your peers by providing us with your input
When in the middle of inputting timecard data, it would be useful to bring up a View Payroll Records grid to see by Posting Group and/or Period Ending Date all the payroll records that have not been posted.
Then, you could double click on a record to bring up the timecard to edit.
We now have the View Grids for Projects, Employees, Vendors, CMR's, Owner Change Orders, etc. that let us see data that can be drilled down to. Since PC allows us to recall employee timecards to edit, it should not be an enormous effort to provide this View for unposted payroll records.
Currently, to know what unposted timecard records there are, you need to run the Payroll Hours and Earnings Report for the current payroll (not historical) to see the list of employee's time already input. It does not make sense that we cannot drill down into a payroll record to edit before posting. The problem is that PC does not provide this option now.
PC does allow us to input and/or recall records by selecting the Posting Group and then an employee but that is not the solution to recalling a list of records that have already been posted which can then be edited.
American Contractor, Sage 100 Contractor, and QuickBooks allow for this type of active list that has drill down options. This is a must have for those with any size payroll.

We really need a list of timecards input but not posted. When you are in the middle of inputting many timecards, the system should show us what we have already input. Just like the change order, vendor, employees, project logs. We need log for timecard input.
