Collaborate with Viewpoint and your peers by providing us with your input
When we add a new subcontractor we complete the Vendor Compensation Reporting section in the Vendor Setup form in order to produce the T5018 forms. However, when producing this year's T5018 forms, we noticed that many of the subcontractor names and addresses on the forms were incorrect. Being our first year using PCMX, we spent a lot of time cleaning up vendor names and addresses and this task was still in progress when we went live. However, these name, address and tax id updates were not passed to T5018 tables. We were later informed that it's the vendor payment process that updates the T5018 tables and not the vendor name and address update. This does not model real world behavior. If a vendor changes it's name or address, the T5018 information cannot rely on there being a subsequent payment, as there may not be one and the form will be sent to the wrong address.
We request the logic be changed so that any updates to the vendor's name, address and tax id be immediately reflected in the T5018 tables.
Being a specifically Canadian requirement, this won't get many votes, but this is seriously flawed logic affecting government forms.
