You can set the order for printing vendor payment checks but not for the selection process. Sometimes a vendor's sort name is very different than the vendor name putting the invoices in a different place than what one would expect. i.e. J.W. Wood's sort name is "Wood J. W." and is filed under "W" but when selecting invoices to pay, it shows up in the "J"s.
