If we want to use the F4 function key to find something in a list like a GL account, cost code, vendor, etc., you need to be in the cell you want to then find data for. Then you press F4 to open the lookup list, then you type what you might need into the search field at the top to have PC find similar matches.
If we could simply type a few characters in the field we want to search for AND THEN press F4, PC should automatically start the search based on what we just typed. This would eliminate all the extra key strokes.
Sage 100 Contractor does it this way and it was very useful to have such a streamlined and quick lookup/find option with F4.
Please consider this request. It will help the everyday end user do their jobs more efficiently.
Thanks.
