The General Project Set up can track Cost Codes by Division, but PCMX will not allow for the revenue to be recognized in the correct divisions. This is a fundamental issue with the Cost/Revenue Accounting which has a negative affect on the Income Statement and compromises analytical observation of data.
When you use Allow Divisions on Cost Codes, the costs are allocated to the correct division on the Project Reconciliation Report and G/L accounts as per the cost code set up. However, the revenue is not allocated to correct divisions. Instead, all of the revenue is allocated to the division that is selected on the General Tab. In effect PCMX is overstating the revenue and profit in one division, while understating the revenue and giving a 100% loss to the other divisions.
This isn't an enhancement, this is a fundamental issue with the revenue recognition of PCMX that needs immediate attention.

Hi Cynthia,
I will try this as soon as I get in. Thank you for reading this board and responding to the issue.
Answers from the help desk team are hard to come by these days. It seems like a lot of the helpful Maxwell originals have been replaced. This results in admin who don't try to help and I often hear, "PCMX doesn't do that, put it in the suggestion box." It can be very frustrating contacting the helpdesk because you know you won't get an answer and a call back is rare. This was an example of that new Viewpoint attitude towards solving problems.
So to conclude my rant, there are still some long term helpful helpdesk members with the Maxwell customer first mindset. But overall, the new Viewpoint employees need training on how to help the client. Fast client interaction times, don't make for happy clients. Thank you for sticking with the Viewpoint transition and taking the time to resolve our issues.
When setting up Billing, make sure the Track Revenue by Project Cost Code box is checked. This allows the cost codes to be associated to the billing codes. When this is done, the division for the cost code will also control where the revenue is posted in the general ledger.
