Currently all User-Defined fields are found in the Binders tab. Allow for management to select which tab the User Defined Field is to be located.
Example:
You create User Defined Fields for Building Owner Name and Address on the Project Set Up. Management has the ability to select to place these fields on the General or Additional Tabs. There is plenty of room to add User Defined Fields within the Tab Display.
Example:
You add a User Defined Field of Automobile Insurance Compliance in the Vendor Set Up. Allow for the user to add this to the Compliance Tab within Vendor Set Up

I find more and more items that need user defined fields every day. Recently the State of South Carolina started requiring you to show your Mechanical License Number on your invoices. So, of course the means a new user defined field and then I need to get them on to our AIA and T & M invoice forms. For the life of me I can't understand why this hasn't been done already. So of the items we are asking for should actually be in the program to being with. Things like License Numbers, dates for final payments received from customers, last day worked on the job, has a warranty been set out, close out manuals set out. The list goes on and on and as usual nothing gets done.
I can't believe this still hasn't happened. This needs to be done asap. It is very frustrating to have to go to the binder tap, then click on user fields, then enter what information you need to. This should have been obvious from the start.
Please make this happen now!
Any updates?
For the person who is inputting information it makes it very difficult to remember all of the items because they are not relevant to the location.
Thanks for keeping this request alive.
Having the user defined fields in the binder tab is probably one the dumbest things I have seen. You need to be able to have these fields in the location that makes the most sense for the end user. Having to go back and forth to the binder area is totally unacceptable. At least in Management Suite they were easier to find and use.
Months ago, I posted a request just like this one so I am supporting it again here.
It is very poor design to put all user defined fields in the last tab on forms. The fields should be assignable to the tab they belong to.
I would like to be able to edit the input screens. To maybe hide or unhide fields we do not use and place them on less screens and in an order that that makes sense for our data entry workflow.
