Neither Tech Support nor I could find a way to issue a credit card refund to a customer in a way that the refund would be included in that day's deposit id. Unless we're not seeing a more efficient way, we always enter and post our store invoices as Customer Invoices and then enter the credit card receipt using the same deposit id. Now logically, I would have thought just following the same procedure of entering a (negative amount) Customer Invoice and then a (negative amount ) credit card receipt would do the trick but, unfortunately, entering a negative amount Customer Invoice results in a Credit Memo which cannot be "paid" by a receipt. If the American Contractor approach to receipts was adhered to, it would be much easier to apply credit memos, receipts, and balances on account without making multiple entries mandatory.
The whole reason this is an issue is that when we reconcile our monthly credit card statement, there is a list of deposits that are made for each day's total, and if the refund is not included the day's batch total does not match.
