We are over-allocating overhead on projects with a significant amount of overtime. The premium pay rates pull too much overhead cost onto the projects. We would like an option exactly like the option in Workmen's Comp calculation to omit overtime and premium pay from the calculation of overhead. Even better would be the option to set a different, lower allocation rate on premium pay, as we recognize there certainly is some additional hard-burden cost associated with premium pay (payroll taxes for instance). We have considered using a blended rate, but the appropriate blended rate would fluctuate throughout the year with how much overtime we are scheduling, and would shift the overhead load between projects with significant overtime and those without.
