In Approve Vendor Invoice, if the User's routing distribution is closed (set to inactive), then the invoice should not appear in the list when the Routing Status is set to filter on Active only. In other words, the user is done with approving, please get rid of the invoice.

Have you tried the Routing Status drop menu changed to Active? It might help. I recently discovered it.
