When running an account transaction report, it would be useful to know what the balance is for the account on a series of dates. For instance, if my credit card bill cuts off on the 30th, I would like to look at our transaction report and quickly see that the account balance is equal to the credit card statement. I realize that this could be done by specifying the end date; however, due to timing issues, I run the balance subsequent to the credit card statement date to ensure that the invoices are posted on the correct date.
I have attached a file which shows the format that is requested. This is fairly standard in most accounting programs, and you can see that the running balance easily ties out to the closing balance listed on the report.
