Collaborate with Viewpoint and your peers by providing us with your input
We have employees who are going thru apprenticeship training. In order to verify what type of work then need more experience I need to be able to run a report in a single line format. This report then needs to be above to total (giving the user the choice of options) to total by job, by cost code, etc. This was something we were able to do in Management Suite thru the Office Manager Module. Currently I have to run the job cost detail report (less moving of data than thru payroll) for a specific time frame (generally 6 - 12 months). Then I have to export to excel, move the data into a usable format, then sort and then total. If you are going to give us the option to export the data, have it export all date in a single line in order to spend less time moving data fields around in order to get what you need. Am I the only one who needs report of this nature that nothing is ever easy?

I do agree may reports do NOT lend them selves to good manipulation, after a save to Excel because of the two rows (or more) layout. I have found exporting to csv format does create a workable file. be warned you will get extraneous columns, but easy enough to delete.
