When I run my payroll, I total the FICA -medicare (both SS and Med) totals to see what amount we need to deposit each time we pay our employees. I find it extremely frustrating that once an employee meets the cap the reports DO NOT agree. This week when running the payroll for salaried employees the report totals on the Current Earnings Statement showed FICA SS as 636.24 and Fica Med at 399.44 which would total $2071.36 after adding the employer share. However the posting journal was for 1975.37 as at least one employee hit the cap. Am I the only one who finds the frustrating. I actually thing that the employer portion should be shown on the bottom recap so you can actually see the totals required before posing the payroll. This is the nly software I have ever used that didn't break out the totals in a way that was simple to read.
