Sort is presently digit by digit.
If you have check series of different digit lengths as we do, bank rec does not sort them correctly - it sorts digit by digit. The following is how Procontractor Bank rec will sort these check numbers in "Sort by Number" order.

Sort should be numerical -
Problem/Issue created: We have 4-digit, 5-digit and 6-digit series in our accounting system for different types of ACH and paper disbursements. Current digit-by-digit sort mixes these series together when the first 4 digits match, this requires extra time, diligence, and line-by-line verification in bank reconciliation process. We clear over 1,000 checks a month - review and clearing of numerical check sequences against the bank statement needs to be logical and efficient - this is not.
