Collaborate with Viewpoint and your peers by providing us with your input
When creating alternates and copying takeoff items from the estimate using the "Estimate" button, the Select Items window that pops up does not allow for any columns to be viewed or for any sort order options. The use of WBS codes does have a great deal of potential however, with the system not capable of providing the WBS sort option here, we are losing the WBS code capabilities and making it harder and time consuming to use.
For example; if we have an alternate to deduct certain takeoff items from the estimate and those items have been sorted it with a custom WBS code as in Alternate 1 on the Estimate Tab, there is no way to find items related to that WBS code from the Alternates Tab... Inserting items by a WBS code sort could be extremely quick, instead the Alternate pop up Select Item window provides a list of all items in the estimate with no ability to even sort those items and they appear to listed in the order they were inserted into the estimate?
The suggestion is to provide column view options and sort order options in all of the pop up Select Items windows in to adequately see the items and in order to utilize the WBS codes so that we don't have to see the hard to read default information before the item description.
