Two months ago I had an 11.5 Gig backup of my database, this month it is roughly 25 Gigs. (I think there is something wrong here, but that's another story) It would be nice to be able to "Back-Up and Remove" selected estimates in one action, in order to bring down the size of the database. As it is now, I need to go to each estimate that I want to remove, create a back up, and then later, go back and remove the file. I have hundreds of old jobs from previous years, that I don't want to lose, but I don't want them taking up space on our server's "C" drive.

Comment from Viewpoint Employee John Black: this idea for an "Estimate Archive" tool has frequently been a topic of discussion on support calls and needs more upvotes from the User Base. Currently, ProContractor does not offer the ability to easily archive then delete old Estimates. As a result, customers may end up with hundreds of old Estimates from previous years that are cluttering up the database. An "Archive" tool would allow the user to select one Estimate (or a range of Estimates) based on date/time, Name, or folder location, then export the Estimates as .MDB files to a permanent folder location outside the MaxAppDB, then delete them (remove them) from the MaxAppDB database, all in one step. Users could choose to "Archive" all estimates from 2011, for example. THE CHALLENGE with this Enhancement Request has always been those Estimates that are linked to Bids that are linked to Project Manager Worksheets: those items cannot be removed from the SQL server database, because those data elements are now referenced in other tables.
