Collaborate with Viewpoint and your peers by providing us with your input
The highlighter is an important, useful tool in takeoff and is used frequently on nearly all drawings with takeoff on them. Several colors can be used multiple times on the same drawing and changing colors can be a bit time consuming. Currently the only way to change the color (for multiple item highlighting in the same color) is to go through the lengthy process of navigating to the All Tasks Panel, then to Estimating Preferences, then to the Colors tab where you can change the color and line width in the Highlighter Properties section, as long as you click on the OK button.
It would save everyone a lot of time to allow access to the highlighter properties directly from the Highlighter icon/button on the Takeoff Tab task bar. The suggestion would be a normal left click on the icon to utilize the highlighter and a right click to access the highlighter properties. This would allow users to simply click on one button to gain access to the highlighter properties.
Additionally, the highlighter should be custom sizable on the drawing. Since the line width does not correspond to the drawing scale, users should be able to simply drag the corners to resize the highlight annotation.
