Currently, the designated assembly quantity in any ELA is reset to zero when sent from the catalog to an estimate. While I can understand the theory behind this, more flexibility is required for day to day use by estimators.
The suggestion is to provide an option in the form of a global type setting to retain the assembly quantity values assigned at the catalog level. With this setting estimators would not be forced to re-enter known or common values each time they are used. This setting should be a one-time setting that can be toggled by administrators.
An example would be ELAs set up with a multiplier for the assembly quantity. Another example would be lump sum ELAs that will always be 1 LS. There are many examples where this option/setting will prove to decrease unnecessary repetition and increase production.
