Ability to save output graphics PDF's at plan size instead of 8.5 x 11

My field personnel like to have a cut fill diagram, including cut/fill depths, to know how to plan their work.  When i save the grid diagram as a PDF, the grid lines and font of the depths becomes very large on the blown up version I try to send to the printer to the point of being un-readable.
