Currently there is no easy way to round a lump sum value in the estimating stage to the nearest dollar. It would be nice if a job with a lump sum value of, for example, $235,689.35 could be rounded to $235,689.00, both when it prints on the proposal, as well as the actual proposed value. Most GCs will not include the $0.35 on the contract they send, so it will help on the accounting end when we end up $0.35 underpaid, and it looks more professional. To ask for the last $0.35 is just tacky.
The only way I know how to do it currently is to make a BidDay Adjustment to the final price. Sounds simple, but there's a few steps involved and then I end up having to create a BidDay Adjustment for every single job to get rid of the change. OR we have to wait until the job goes into Project Manager Worksheet, and then play with the numbers there to get rid of the change.
A check box option in the estimating tab to round the lump sum final price to the nearest dollar would be great for both estimating, project management, and accounting.

This makes no sense at all. You have to make a carbon copy of your estimate IN ORDER TO ROUND IT?!? Stop and think about how ridiculous that is. What if you had to make another copy of an Excel Spreadsheet in order to round it? Would you ever use it? Get with the program and get this changed. We deal with dollars an cents. Why would we ever need 4 decimal places for anything other than engineering calculations??
Sometimes it seems so crazy....
If you forget to do a bid day and print the proposal in whole numbers sometimes not everything adds up correctly in the final number.
