It is very easy on bid day at the last minute to leave a line blank. That could cost someone a lot of money. I know that there is the verify function but sometimes you don't have time to go through that procedure at the last minute. If the line would change color when there was a zero sum then it would stand out better. It would also be beneficial when you add a new line item to your estimate, it would stand out where it was inserted into your estimate and you don't have to search when you have a lot of lines. Timberline Estimating does this. There zero sum lines are blue and change to the normal when it has an extended cost.
