Sometimes we will copy an item from the estimate to use in a different assembly which has a different cost code, say like 4" PVC Pipe. It may have a WBS code for "Type" which would be "PVC" but because it was in an assembly for sewer line it would have a "Sewer" cost code as well. I am going to use the copied item in storm. I want the "Type" WBS codes locked, but leave the "Cost Code" WBS code blank when it copies. That way when I move it into an assembly that is coded for "Storm Water" it will pick up the correct "Cost Code" from the parent, but the "Type" WBS code will remain the same.
