Cross sections is an old program we utilized in performing earthwork takeoffs when cross sections is included in the plan documents. This tool is necessary to complete the takeoffs since some job do not even provide an contour information used in the earthwork program. This would be helpful to all estimating personnel that encounter cross sections. This should be a separate module in ProContractor just as "manage estimates" and "manage earthworks". The only way to perform the takeoffs now without having a cross section program is to perform the takeoffs by hand. The old program through Quest would take the distance between two station numbers on a roadway and average cut/fill sections generating a cubic yardage between those section and the job as a whole.
