Currently, when building an ELA and using the "required" option on a component item, it only prompts the user to enter a value for that particular component item via the 3D View window. Users can still proceed through the entire ELA takeoff and even select OK to accept the takeoff/changes even if the "required" component/s are ignored. The suggestion is to allow the "required" option to behave like an actual required item and prevent users from proceeding without a value. An example would be online or electronic forms. Not only do they prevent users from proceeding, they also highlight the missing or required field. When building ELAs with required dimensions as in Length, Width and Height, allowing users to accidentally bypass these dimensions will result in inaccurate or zero quantity items within the takeoff.
