For whatever reason some engineers like to have contour intervals less than one foot. When you try to type in a negative decimal foot interval, the program doesn't allow a decimal to be typed after the negative symbol. To get around this, you need to type in the positive decimal foot interval, then "Arrow" over to the front of the decimal and hit the "minus" key.
