As a heavy civil contractor, most of our estimates our unit price bid tabs. We have a catalog for our private work with thousands of bid items. Each one of these bid items has it's own WBS Code. Once an estimate is prepared, it is very cumbersome to get it to the summary page, rounded, and printed off. To be quite honest, we've basically given up on it and have a view in the estimate tab where we copy and paste into excel. We need to be able to pre-set the rounding precision based on the Bid Item / WBS code. For example, We have a separate Bid Item / WBS code for every size of PVC Sewer Line we install. Every estimate we produce we round these to the nearest 0.10. Every 04' Dia. Sewer Manhole item will get rounded to the nearest ten dollars. This can apply to every bid item / wbs code we use. It is very cumbersome to re-round every line item in the summary page. I know Hard Dollar and Bid to Win Systems allow you to pre-set the rounding precision of every pay item in your catalog to different precisions depending on the item.
