Collaborate with Viewpoint and your peers by providing us with your input
We have a established a limited set of cost codes that we choose from for all jobs. However, since there is no master table of cost codes, we have to rely on the PMs entering these codes and the associated descriptions correctly every project set up, but the variation is staggering. If a cost code or its description is mistyped and costs are posted,they are impossible to fix. by mere mortals.
Implementing cost codes as a master table and being able to select these from a lookup would ensure consistency and accuracy and avoid unfixable project data entry setup errors. Project templates help, in that they can present these standard cost costs in the Copy from Project feature, but its not a very elegant workaround.

This is a great idea! We have created a template for our PM's to copy from when setting up a job but a master list would be ideal.
Agreed! We have that now in American Contractor. Very useful. Without this option, Wrong cost code numbers and names can become a big problem.
Agreed. We have this feature in American Contractor now. My company has to have the ability to change codes and names at will. But it will be great in PC to have a master list to select from if needed.
