Collaborate with Viewpoint and your peers by providing us with your input
We have a list of no less than 25 tasks that need completed on most projects. Examples are Contract Document Execution, Locates, GPS Setup, Staking, Pre-Con Meeting, Purchase Orders, Submittals, Drawings, Billing Deadlines, etc. The checklist stood out as an area to manage all these tasks getting effectively completed and centralized where the work was getting done and appeared to be a value add of ProContractor. After testing and reviewing with Viewpoint Support, conclusion is the structure was there for functionality but turns out checklists are more just an overdone formatting template (REF Case 1295806).
Few functional features needed are listed below.
1. At save of checklist, give option to distribute/notify owners for task(s) assigned to them OR auto distribute item owners on the start date listed for the item
2. Alert users at login of the task due/upcoming due dates assigned for each item. System creates alerts that can be viewed in administration, but this should be system managed not user managed.
3. Need an area (probably project binder) where checklist can be reviewed AND/OR alert Management of checklist items that are completed/overdue

I agree in general with this comment as well. I would add to this comment:
Project Connect is a great source and if they would just enhance this area of the program, I could easily see things like a "Project Work Flow Check List" all the way to your companies project close out process that we could make standard work flows and modify as needed and a Project "To Do/ Task List" for special items that need to get completed not on the work flow closeout agenda. If they could make it a little easier with hyper link capability and a better drag and drop functionalities for " documents" so you could do a quick entry when your in a specific project that would be nice too.
