We've created a maintenance work item for repairs as a partial work around to track repairs. We use it to enter repair notes, but we have no way to keep a work order system for the equipment. We currently manage this with a spreadsheet. The operators turn in equipment sheets listing items that need repair on a piece of equipment then we have to track on a spreadsheet items that get completed. Need to be able to enter a work order for an item to be repaired, assign it to a mechanic or outside repair, track the repair notes, manage the work orders as open, closed, in progress. This would be very useful for managing our repairs along with keeping track of what was done and when on a piece of equipment. It would also increase the efficiency of our mechanic staff as they could see any open work orders when they are called out to work on a piece of equipment. Many of these items could be addressed at the same time. This would also increase the resale value of the equipment as we would have a detailed log to show with the equipment.
