one report showing both payroll tax liability AND paid amounts

Amer Contractor had a monthly and yearly report that listed payroll tax liabilities by pay date as well as amounts paid by paid date. This is extremely helpful when reconciling at quarter-end and year-end

    It would be very helpful to, at the very least, be able to pull a report that indicates 401(k) contributions & employer match amounts via pay date.

    I agree. This is an extremely helpful report at quarter-end and year-end.  I spend quite a bit of time reconciling my quarter and year-end reports.
