Make the program more intuitive

There are so many steps involved in otherwise simple transactions.  This is but one example, but the idea can be  applied throughout the program.

For this example, I have chosen cutting a check for immediate payment.  You have to Enter the Invoice, Post the Invoice, Print the Check, Post the payment.  In this instance, if I have chosen to "Pay" the invoice instead of it being an open invoice, the system should prompt me after saving the invoice, "Are you ready to Post?" and take me there if I answer yes.  Then it should intuitively ask, "Are you ready to print the check?", and then (after printing), "Are you ready to Post the Payment"  It would really speed up the process.  Please consider

Simple request, put in over 5 years ago. I have had several occasions where I've received an "instant check request" for a permit or license for one of our projects. The owner or PM will just sit down and wait. Please shorten up this process. Tom has an option all lined out.

This question may be off the topic. But what is the Pre-Payment option for Vendors. I try to get my answer on Clearview but it brings up results that have nothing to do with Pre Payments.

I don't think Michael Lewis is purposefully posting comments.  I think I've heard of this virus - it causes your machine find and post comments to very, very old Suggestion Ideas that have been shot down but that deserve more attention.

Don't worry ladies and gentlemen, Viewpoint will have this Michael Lewis issue fixed in about 2 years!  lol! I, for one, will work on turning off my email notifications because this is ridiculous!  Also, I apologize for yet another email notification by posting this.

New suggestion: Get Michael Lewis to stop blowing up everyone's inbox AND make plans yet to make the program more intuitive.

Yes, it has a virus in it. We are trying to find the infected machine as we speak.

I agree also. Someone comes in for a check I always say well have a seat this will be about 10 minutes.

Who is Michael Lewis and why are you trying to get us to open an attachment - just tell us what you want to tell us.  Does it have a virus in it?

Agreed. The user-interface needs a complete overhaul... the project document section is terrible. I am so sad my company uses this program when there is so much better out there.

Agreed.  This would be especially helpful when you are asked to hurray up and cut a check that needs to be given to someone standing in your office waiting for the check.  I can't tell you how many times this happens.  This should be something that is done asap.

Agree!!!!!  So many unnecessary steps in this entire system!

Wholely Agree - The lack of common-sense flows like this throughout the program make learning Procontractor very difficult and unintuitive, and operating in it quite inefficient compared to what we know is possible.  Finding even limited success and happiness in ProContractor is about figuring out what you can ignore in the mess, what pieces are critical to your end needs and which dark corner they are tucked in, and then developing shortcuts and building a few key custom reports and forms to meet your requirements.

I agree!! There needs to be a "cash payment" option like in American Contractor. Along with "Cash Receipts".
