Not really a suggestion, true, but a question: Has anyone found any ACCOUNTING improvements in the latest release. I was perusing the 3.7 release documentation and couldn't find anything that looked like suggestions from this Suggestion Box. Seems like I get a little excited when a new version is released only to find that accounting is the last kid to be chosen for the team. Almost all the improvements seem to be geared toward bidding and the mobile app. I am an owner of our business but I spend a lot of time with data entry and reporting. I find that the office workers "in the trenches" are being somewhat ignored.

I was just browsing the enhancement requests and looked at the planned enhancements. There are 33 listed, I saw 1 (that's right ONE) that has anything to do with accounting. Am I the only one really angry that nothing is planned for the accounting side of this software.

This is so true! Our company is considering a change due to the lack of accounting features in this software.

Not strictly for accounting. They have so much work to do in the basics it is very disappointing to review a new release and not see anything related to the day to day accounting tasks.
I continue to be as proactive as I can be but it is hard to not get discouraged with the development of PC.
They either are prioritizing the wrong development tasks, don't have the resources to get the program on par with standard accounting systems, or they don't think there are serious issues with the software.
They have to do a lot better in growing this program for everyone and not just estimators!

Not that I could see either. Just for implementation. What a waste. I was advised by Support that it wasn't necessary to install.
I totally agree with you Bob. I am totally frustrated at the lack of improvements for the accounting end of this software. Every time I talk to support (and that is pretty often) I complain about the lack of enhancements being put into the software. I have mentioned that some of them are 9 months to 1 year old and have 50 or more votes, but to no avail. Furthermore, every time I see something that might be a good thing, I find it creates another problem. The other frustrating thing is regarding payroll and having to use 3rd party stuff to do quarterly reports and certified payrolls that just about all other software has..
I can't figure out a way to post a purchase order to a job related vendor for materials we purchase that will not be posted to a project. How stupid. Surely I am not the only one who enters purchase orders for items from job related vendors for non job purchases.
It seems like the more we use this software the more frustrating it becomes. What should only take a few minutes to do, takes forever since there are so many things you must work around.
The bottom line of the company is good accounting practices and procedures, but it seems like Viewpoint is more interested in the estimating and mobile stuff than the accounting. Maybe if a bunch of people go to th annual convention grump enough it will help, but to be truthful I doubt it.
