I've been struggling for three years to get a decent standard "Bank Deposit Slip" out of ProContractor. I had finally arrived at a work-around using View Customer Transactions that I would then export to Excel, re-sort, subtotal for Cash and Checks, and re-format. Unfortunately, with the advent of "Miscellaneous Receipts" (which I applaud), in the custom view I had created, those receipts are not included. It has been suggested that I modify the Cash Receipts History report which has brought me tantalizingly close to achieving this evasive "Deposit Slip" but unfortunately the "Transaction Date" is not available.
It has also been suggested that I hire development to produce a custom report and that irks me for two reasons; 1. When buying into PC, we were told how easy modifying reports would be in PC which I have not found to be true since a lot of the reports I would go to modify did not include the fields I needed... and 2. In the past, the developers have not displayed much connection with the users' needs so I am loathe to hire them to produce something I believe should already be there or, at least, be possible to create in Modify Reports. Ah, well, so much for my rant, bottom line, I would like a "Deposit Slip" as a standard (pre-posting) report.

Bob,
What data is needed on the report?
It is amazing how many times I have tried to modify reports, only to find out my data set isn't available, or I can't sort a data set.
I also agree. I haven't even be able to modify a report for fear of messing up something that I will need for another use. We were also told that we would be able to create reports. One of the main reasons we purchased this software is because 90% of our customers have their over cover sheet for AIA invoicing. We were shown and told we would be able to do this in PC and use the standard AIA continuation sheet. NEVER we were told, yes you can do that, but you have to pay our programmers to create the reports. So here I am still stuck doing what I was when using Management Suite, printing the AIA's in PC and then inputting into a pdf the information on the Contractors required forms.
I truly feel that Viewpoint doesn't care what we want, they just want to sell the crummy software. I truly wish we knew ahead of time what we know now because we would not have purchased this software.
And have you noticed how many requests have been here more 9 months and still nothing has been done.
Totally agreed 100%. Why would they not include such a basic document? The day to day accounting focus is not very strong. They need to get on the ball with these requests and get this program up to speed!
I totally agree with both reasons. What we were sold is not what we bought as far as modifying forms and reports. It was a big part of our decision to purchase.
