Using ProContractor Mobile for time keeping. We are doing fine with Projects. However, when we work in our Yard/Shop (time charged directly to General Ledger only) hours are turned in using a paper time sheet. Ability to enter hours through ProContractor Mobile for items that are General Ledger only hours should be added

Jordan, we actually have a "project" set up for entering non-job time. It has a goofy cost code of 00.00.000 and when our payroll clerk sees that on the report (which still isn't working 100% BTW) she knows to go into that person's timecard and make the needed change.
Can I vote for this many, many times? I want all employees to be on mobile time, even our office personnel. It would save so much time entering the payroll.
Absolutely Jordan! Way too many “work arounds” have to be used with ProContractor. I wish I had a better handle on where Viewpoint is going with ProContractor.

I agree with you William. I was just providing you with our work around in case you needed one. I am hopeful that they will make the needed changes soon. Converting 20 or more DFRs each week into time card data manually is for the birds!
Thank you for the suggestion Jordan. That has been suggested by ProContractor. However, I was hoping to avoid doing it that way. That is how we did it back in 1975. My thought was that surely an accounting program in current use could accommodate direct entry to GL. Besides field personnel working in a yard/shop it would be useful to have the ability to charge office personnel time where it could be imported in one seamless operation. That way people with multiple responsibilities could allocate time to the correct task in the GL.

We created a project called NON-PROJECT TIME so that our field employees can enter their General Ledger work through this project. It does require manual entry into their timecards (because you can't use the import function), but it does provide a digital way for them to enter their General Ledger time.
